Ibn Uday Al-Jurjani, Al-Kamil fi dhu'afa

(Book of Weak Hadith) (d976)

-----------------------------------------------------

Also known as Abd Allah Ibn Adi al Yurjani. Born: 890AD Died: 976AD in Gorgan (=Jurjan) Iran. His book searches in a science of hadith specializing in listing the names of the weak from among the narrators of hadith, and this book is considered one of the most extensive books about the weak hadith. Some importance for East Africa as it identifies several Hadith concerning people of East Africa (=Zanj) as very weak. And as these very weak Hadith were through the centuries repeated by several authors they did shape the idea people had about the Zanj.
